Margaret is an experienced Health and Safety Professional with 25 years of experience in OH&S group management, advisory, regulatory and consultancy roles in the manufacturing industry, banking, healthcare, disability sector, science and research, engineering, trade industries, local and central government, general consultancy and maritime safety enforcement and regulation with Maritime New Zealand.
Margaret is a registered Chartered Fellow (CFIOSH) with the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH), a Certified Fellow (CertFellNZISM) with NZISM and a registered Health and Safety Professional with HASANZ. Margaret holds a Graduate Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety from Massey University and is currently completing a Master of Science (Ergonomics and Human Factors) through the University of Derby.
Margaret is an experienced trainer and facilitator who is passionate about supporting, mentoring and coaching in the H&S profession and promoting women in health and safety into leadership and governance roles. Co-founder and Chair of Women in Safety Excellence (WISE) New Zealand, a member of the Institute of Directors (IoD) and holds a number of community-based governance roles. Outside work Margaret enjoys spending time with her young family and practising yoga.
