Margaret is an experienced Health and Safety Professional with 25 years of experience in occupational health, safety and wellbeing governance, leadership, advisory, regulatory and consultancy roles in the manufacturing industry, banking, healthcare, disability sector, engineering, marine, ports, science and research, transport, infrastructure, trade industries, local and central government, public safety, general consultancy and health and safety enforcement and regulation. Margaret is a member of the Institute of Directors, holds a number of governance roles and works as an independent advisor across public and private sector Boards and Executive Leadership Teams.
Margaret is a registered Chartered Fellow (CFIOSH) with the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH), a Certified Fellow (CertFellNZISM) with NZISM. A registered Health and Safety Professional with HASANZ, Margaret holds a Graduate Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety from Massey University and is currently completing a Master of Science (Ergonomics and Human Factors) through Auckland University of Technology.
Margaret is an experienced trainer and facilitator who is passionate about supporting, mentoring and coaching in the H&S profession and is co-founder and Chair of Women in Safety Excellence (WISE) New Zealand. Outside work Margaret enjoys spending time with her family and practising yoga.
